All the kittens we put for adoption were abandoned very young and found in places like garbage bins, peoples gardens, under bushes in fields, under cars, back of restaurants etc etc. People do not neuter their cats so they think it is ethical to just let them have litter after litter. The kittens are ALLOWED to stay with the mother for a couple of weeks and are then dumped. The majority dumped seem to be female.
Is that a co-incidence? Just like the pups we get, most of those are female.
All our kittens are in foster. All are vaccinated and neutered at the right age. Older ones are tested for FIV and FELV.

MILU was found on the road with her brother who was dead, hit by a car! A kind lady picked her up and took her to the vet to see if she had any injuries. She was very scared but allowed herself to be examined. No injuries at all. Lucky cat.
Milu has now been sterilised, tested negative for FIV and FELV, will be fully vaccinated and ready for adoption to a loving family. Estimated date of birth August 2017.
Here with me she sits on the sofa and purrs away. When she hears all the dogs barking she runs into her basket behind the sofa. Loves to look out of the french windows to the birds in the bushes haha. Video available.

BEANO was found on a road where there is heavy traffic. He was taken to our vet where he has been ever since living in a crate most of the time. He is very people friendly and also gets on with other cats in there and dogs. He is now vaccinated, castrated and ready for adoption. Estimated date of birth August 2019.
Poor Beano can’t stay there so will have to be returned to the street if no-one wants to give him a home. As he is a white cat, he will have problems with the sun during the long, hot Algarve summers so we would love him to go to northern climes.

BICA is a small, male kitten 6/7 weeks old. He was found all alone in a ruin in the countryside.
He is in foster with an English couple and is looking for a permanent home, soon.

PRINS was found dumped by a large container near a big supermarket. His former owners had provided hom with a cut-off plastic water bottle with water an a bag of cat biscuits scattered on the ground.....
Luckily someone found him before he was killed by the traffic all around him. He is about 8 weeks old here and healthy. Has been vaccinated, wormed and de-flead.

SHAKIRA was pushed out of a truck in the middle of town. She was subsequently rescued and taken home by our colleague. First very scared and shy she is now recovered. Completely vaccinated and declared healthy by our vet she is now waiting for a flight to Holland where she has a new home.
