ALBERTO

MIXED BREED MALE

Many people rescue animals. It makes them feel good as well as useful. The problems start when these well-meaners have no more space to put them all and no conditions for their welfare yet  keep on doing it.

This is the case of ABERTO who eventually was rescued for the second time. He is a sweet little dog, very social with people and other dogs. Alberto is small, weighs 9.5 kg and stands at 36cm shoulder height. Estimated date of birth 1 October 2019. Ready for adoption to a “normal” home.

BLITZ

MIXED BREED,  FEMALE

When females with no owner start getting fed by everyone and anyone around popular supermarkets,  the results can be easily fore spelled. They get pregnant and have pups somewhere where those lovely people who feed them cannot find them nor catch them. As a consequence of this negligent strategy, there are 13 more pups on our website for adoption that should never have been born were the mother dogs “caught” by the competent authorities instead of just left on the street.

Nine of these pups are female! Imagine we had not caught them. If each female had, on first heat, say 8 pups, that comes to 72 pups. No further comment is needed.

Pups were already 10 weeks when captured. With lots of TLC and special attention from a foster mother who comes here every day, bless her, the pups are making good social progress and will be ready for adoption after all the necessary vaccinations.

We need to find them all homes and get the females spayed at the correct time so these will not go on to produce more unwanted offspring.

This is Blitz, born on 4 March 2019, and we expect that she will be a small medium.

BOLLY

MIXED BREED MALE

BOLLY was picked up from the street by the local firefighters because he was hit by a car and had a broken left front leg. He had no chip or identification and would normally be taken to the municipal shelter, but because of his injury, they took him to our vet. Our vets did not hesitate to take him in and started the long treatment to recovery. We promised to find him a home.
Bolly underwent extensive surgery and will have to walk with an external fixator for some months. He was locked up in a crate in the clinic most of the day and only allowed to go out for a short toilet walk, but he never complained and showed no signs of aggression. He is friendly with all other animals in the clinic, both dogs and cats and also with a rabbit.
But then a mother dog with two puppies, who suffered from Parvo, was admitted and therefore Bolly had to go to a safe place and now he is with us.
It will take a few more weeks until his leg has healed completely, but nevertheless we are already looking for a 10 star house for this special dog with a special family where he can stay forever. He will be a small medium sized dog, lightly built and currently weighs about 9 kg. His leg heals well and he can already walk on it a bit. His estimated date of birth is November 2019.

BONECA

PORTUGUESE POINTER, FEMALE

Boneca is a Portuguese Perdigeiro, a Pointer. This breed is well known for its gentle nature and tolerance and that is one of the reasons they are so easily abused and mistreated.
Boneca was living in a gypsy camp when she became very ill so they asked a rescue organisation for help. After veterinary treatment she went back to the camp with medication and they promised to look after her. A few months later a volunteer went to check on the well being of Boneca. To her horror she was emaciated and ill. Consequently, she was "bought" from the so called owner and taken into the shelter where she has been ever since. Boneca has border line Leishmania with no clinical signs. She is a lovely, gentle dog, plays with all other dogs, male or female and loves walks. She will make a lovely pet. Estimated date of birth is 2014 and she weighs about 20 kg.

BOO

MIXED BREED FEMALE

Here is Boo. Boo and Binky, two cute girls, were not always so cute and happy. They lived near a gypsy camp with their mother and siblings and were not well treated at all. But these are not easy situations to resolve as all rescuers know.

One day their mother was hit by a car and killed. The young dogs were suddenly all alone and this was the opportunity to gather the litter together and take them to the shelter. At first they were all very afraid but slowly they realised how lucky they were to be taken care of by people who love dogs and would never beat or kick them.

Both girls are social and love attention and cuddles.

Born in July 2019 they will be medium adults of slender build. Boo weighs about 15 kg.

BRUCE

MIXED BREED MALE

BRUCE and his sister STELLA were seen roaming in a field behind a house near Sao Bras where a friend was working. Next day, same scenario, so he went out to look for a mother and any other siblings but found only these two. No signs of a house or anywhere for them to stay. No collars, no identification. Two pups all alone!

Being an animal lover, he couldn’t just leave them there, so took them home. Two lovely social puppies, playful, good with other dogs and used to a cat. Can already sit for a treat and listen to their names when called. Intelligent, trainable pups.

Will be medium sized adults. Estimated date of birth 1 June 2020.

CHAPPIE

MIXED BREED MALE

Chappie was one of the five puppies born in a forest with a natural spring, a favourite dog walking area for locals and visitors. What we can’t understand is with all those walkers, no-one noticed the little mum when she was pregnant? Catching mum then would have saved the planet another five dogs to home. Pretending its not happening is really not an option.

We were asked to help as usual so mum and pups are now with us.

Pups are still very young and easy to pick up and cuddle. Will be very social. Estimated date of birth 02.06. 2020. Will be medium sized adults.

CHICA

MIXED BREED, FEMALE

CHICA was found as a pup and brought to us in September 2015,  then about 4 months old.

Our friend and dog trainer, Yvonne, took her into foster, immediately, as she was such a lovely girl with lots of potential.
At that time, we had more pups so we all went to weekly pup classes with Karin Foster in Loule. Chica stood out in the group as not only “large” in size but also in intelligence. Later that year, she was adopted by a family in the south of Holland. I visited her twice over there and she was fine. Sadly, both husband and wife have been suffering from health problems that terminated in the lady having a heavy operation and only being able to get around in a scootmobile. Suddenly, out of the blue, they were offered a special ground floor flat for people with mobility problems and they had to accept. No large dogs allowed. Chica was destined to go into an animal shelter unless a foster could be found within two days. The Gods found her that foster! So now Chica is looking for a second forever home. She is very social with all people as well as other dogs. She enjoys company and walks well on the lead.Date of birth, 15/05/2015, neutered, chipped and vaccinated. Weight about 45kg due to lack of exercise as should be around 40kg. Chica is in Belgium.

MIXED BREED, FEMALE

Clementina was run down by a car in Faro and taken to the clinic by the fire brigade. A very sad, quiet young doggy. No identification as usual and no-one looking for her or missing her. CODEY

PORTUGUESE MOUNTAIN DOG, MALE

Codey, a short coat brindle Serra da Estrela, young male, came to live with us a year ago, January 2019.

He had been living rough for several months and was fed by kind ladies. Unfortunately, they could not give him a home. Being our trusted and loved breed for 30 years, we offered to take him on.

Serras, when not socialised at an early age, 6-14 weeks, can be very people shy and untrusting. Then it  is not easy to gain that trust in a short time. When they do trust you, you become their best friend.

Codey has seen many other rescued dogs come and go but he has never had any issues with them, male or female. Near his sleeping quarters we have our three house cats and if he gets in that room he doesn’t show any interest in them whatsoever. Running cats we can’t be sure.

We think Codey is now ready for adoption to the right family.

Estimated date of birth is 09/12/2017 which makes him just over 2 years old now.

He is castrated, chipped, vaccinated and tested

FAWN

MIXED BREED FEMALE

IF YOU DONT BELIEVE HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF, TAKE A LOOK AT THESE FACTS. Spring 2019 we rescued 13 pups and a mum out of an area backing onto fields near Intermarche.
In the first week of February we spent two days doing the same thing!!!
This mum has had several litters and her mum had a lot more than several litters. Intermarche is the meeting place for all these stray dogs, male and female. They get fed but not captured. It takes courage and perseverance to catch these dogs but it can be done as we have proved. Now we need the local council to start doing what we do but what is their responsibility..........
SO, we have 9 more pups, 4 female and 5 male, to find homes for and a semi wild mum to sterilise and put back.

All we can do now is take all this one day at a time and never lose hope that our dogs will get adopted and that the vicious circle of pregnant stray dogs will get broken by action and common sense on the part of the authorities.

And here is Fawn and we expect her to grow to a medium size when adult.

We think she was born around 22 januari 2020.

FLASH

MIXED BREED FEMALE

FLASH and her 3 pups were spotted wandering in the middle of the main road that goes from Alportel to Almodovar. It is a long windy road through hills and desolate terrain with few houses along the highway. Not a good place for mum and pups of 6 weeks old. A friend called us and Ad went to pick them up having no other alternative so quickly.

Mum is very friendly with people and a good mum for her children.
Flash is medium size, +/- 20 kg and 50 cm. We believe she was born in July 2013.

Update 19-7-2016. Flash has now been here for more than one year! Her pups are extraordinary dogs, one now being trained as an assistance dog for diabetes and one being trained as a sniffer dog for rescue. BUT Flash just runs around the dog run and still has no home. She is a lovely, gentle dog and will thrive in a home of her own. Very affectionate and people orientated, eager to please. Gets on with other dogs but probably not cats in an outside environment.

FLOSSY

PORTUGUESE MOUNTAIN DOG, FEMALE

This lovely girl belonged to an old Portuguese man who couldn’t really look after her. She was in a home, yes, but not in a house. Because she is a working dog breed this is quite usual here. They sleep in the yard, are often tied up so as not to run away, get cheap food or dinner left-overs, not much human attention etc etc. At the beginning of this year, the old man could not stay in his house any longer due to ill health and was taken into a home for seniors. This lovely dog and his “companion" for several years was left behind in the yard, her yard. These situations happen a lot here and some people think it’s just normal or OK to do that.

Luckily, Flossy was taken to the shelter, cared for and is now looking for her last forever home. One where she can sleep in a nice basket and have lots of attention. She is social with all dogs, cats and people. She weighs around 35 kg which is OK for a Serra female. She is about 7 years old, estimated dob 2013. At this age it is difficult to tell and she looks good for her age.

GEORGE

MIXED BREED, MALE

George, one of the 4 G pups, belongs to an abandoned mother who was allegedly dumped by an ex-pat living in the local village.

That is a person we would love to name and shame. They were found next to the garden of a 94 year old lady who tried to look after them all as best as she could. Sadly, no-one she contacted was able to help, not even the authorities who should deal with these matters. The pups grew and the lady became more and more worried about them in case they would go up onto the main road and get flattened. We knew we had to do something if no-one else would so they are now in one of our runs down the garden. Not ideal for young pups but safe from harm and will be prepared for adoption as usual.

Mum is rather nervous and not happy with being confined. She will be spayed asap.

Estimated date of birth of pups is last week of November 2019.

Mum weighs about 15kg and we expect pups also to be medium adults.

GOYA

MIXED BREED FEMALE

We received an email out of the blue from an unknown lady asking us to please take a puppy that was living in her garden. She has several cats and cannot have a pup. She had no idea where the pup came from but couldn’t take it to a vet, either.

That pup we called GOYA.

Goya is a small female puppy who was rather shy the first couple of weeks but has recovered remarkably well. Of course she had lots of “beasties” on her, i.e. ticks and fleas and possibly some mites but those have been treated and her coat is now growing well.

She is very friendly with all the other dogs and loves to play regardless of their size. A social pup who will make a lovely pet for a family. Already in a dog armchair in the eve watching TV with us.

She will be a small/medium adult. Estimated date of birth 11-08-2020.

Who can give her a warm, loving forever-more home?

GUY

MIXED BREED, MALE

Guy, one of the 4 G pups, belongs to an abandoned mother who was allegedly dumped by an ex-pat living in the local village.

20-10-2020 ADOPTED 29-10-2020

IGOR

MIXED BREED MALE

IGOR was found running around the countryside with a pregnant female!! Great fun for them but not for all the active rescue groups who try so hard to get people to sterilise their animals. Lady friend was caught and taken to the shelter but then Igor just hung around there all sad and alone. No identification, no home, so sad. After a while, he was allowed to come into the shelter as well and is now ready for adoption. He is such a nice little fellow, friendly with everyone and all other dogs. Loves playing and cuddles. Walks well on the lead in town. Estimated DOB 31/01/2019 making him around 20 months old now. Weight 19 kg and 55 cm tall. Castrated, tested and vaccinated, Igor is ready for his forever-more home.

29-11-2019 ADOPTED 19-01-2020

JOANA

MIXED BREED, FEMALE

Joana is the second dog this year we are helping that was dumped in a school playground. Well that's quite a good choice because most kids love dogs and there is a chance for it to get a home. Sadly, Joana was unlucky and ended up in the shelter and not on a cumfy sofa with a teddy bear. That's why we need to find her a permanent home. She is very pretty and very intelligent, learning quickly about new situations and how to adapt to groups of dogs and people. Will be a medium adult. Estimated date of birth is April 15, 2019.

15-04-2020 ADOPTED 26-06-2020

KIA

MIXED BREED FEMALE

KIA was found all alone in the countryside, we call the “campo” here. Sometimes it’s just like a wilderness with natural growing trees, bushes and scrub where it is so very easy to dump and hide dogs, pups, new born kittens, you name it. She was rescued by kind people and taken to a shelter. Because she is an intelligent doggy, she has been going to training classes with a volunteer and is making good progress.

She weighs 14kg and is 47cm in height.

Estimated date of birth is 1 May 2019.

14-12-2019 ADOPTED 06-01-2020

KIMMY

MIXED BREED, FEMALE

KIMMY was found wandering on a fairly busy main road in the countryside. The local police caught her and brought her to our vet in Faro. No collar, no chip as usual. She was not suffering from any injuries or diseases so we agreed to put her for adoption. She is a very friendly little girl seeking attention and cuddles from the people around her.

Kimmy is 4.5 months old and will be a medium size adult dog we guess.

08-12-2019 ADOPTED 19-01-2020

KRISTEL

MIXED BREED, FEMALE

PUPPY KRISTAL, One more case of an abandoned female dog being left to get pregnant and have pups in the field. Only this field full of dumped building and construction rubbish happens to be in the middle of the town, a lovely town so highly praised by its inhabitants and its visitors. How is this possible in anno 2019 almost 2020??? We ask ourselves this question every day.

After several weeks most of the pups disappeared we were told but two females were left. A very concerned friend who lives in the area eventually persuaded us to go and catch these two girls. It’s a shame on the municipality that these situations are just ignored.

Leaving two female pups to fend for themselves means another two litters of pups in the future. Deja vu!

Kristal is a beautiful black with a shiny, wavy coat. Estimated date of birth around end of September 2019. We expect the girls to become medium adults and make wonderful companions. Being so young they will soon forget their sad beginnings.

04-11-2020 ADOPTED 17-12-2020

LAURA

MIXED BREED FEMALE

Once again we have been asked by local people to help with a mother dog who keeps having pups! Yes, 4 or 5 litters, who knows? Mummy dog is chained most of the time, does that help not getting pregnant??? Male pups have all been given away but no-one wants the females, so here they are.

LAURA, now about 5 months old. Probable date of birth 20.05.2020. A bit shy but that will change as soon as she has a home.

Mother dog is being spayed. No more pups! Mission accomplished. Daddy is a handsome, very friendly, social German Shepherd.

We expect Laura to be a good medium size adult dog.

Who can offer this cute girl a forever more home?

07-03-2020 ADOPTED 16-05-2020

LYDIA

MIXED BREED FEMALE

LYDIA was found abandoned and all alone on the road in a village near us. She was taken to the council temporary holding pound and put in a small crate. Poor thing. We were asked to take her for homing so of course we did. Even though we are over-full, we found her a space in among all our others.

She is a pup of about 3 months old on the date she came to us, estimated date of birth 09/12/2019. Very social with us and with the other dogs. Surely a lovely family pet. Will be a medium size adult.

08-12-2019 ADOPTED 22-01-2020

LILLY

MIXED BREED, FEMALE

Friends who also happen to be our fosters came back from a short trip to UK to find a little sad, black, pregnant bundle in their garden. Well, she could not have chosen a better 5 star garden to lay down in.

Lilly has been spayed and is now for adoption. Shy at first, she has adapted well to life in a home with another dog and lovely long walks in the surrounding countryside. She walks off lead and comes on recall which is quite amazing.

Who has a permanent warm basket or bed for this lovely girl? Lilly tested negative for Med blood parasites and is fully vaccinated and chipped. Her estimated date of birth is June 2018 making her around 18 months old. She is a small medium build and weighs 10 kg.

21-02-2020 ADOPTED 01-06-2020

MAYA

MIXED BREED FEMALE

Maya came to us in April 2017 from a gypsy camp. First we rescued some of her pups and then offered to sterilise the mother. When we brought her back to the gypsies they didn’t want her. Poor Maya or should I say, lucky girl?

Sadly, we soon discovered that the front half of her tongue is missing. Could have been a trap, or procession caterpillars or a sadist, we will never know what happened. Maya was a bit shy and afraid of people at first so stayed with us in a run with Flash and others. She eats normally and drinks in her own funny way, sucking up water a bit like a funnel.

We feel she is now ready to be adopted by someone who is not worried about her handicap and loves her  for the happy, social doggy she has become. We dont want to see her stay in a kennel for ever. She is too friendly for that. Maya is around 5 years old. Date of birth, January 2015.

MAX

MIXED BREED MALE

This lovely pup was found with his sister Mollie on waste ground with no mother or any more siblings. They were thin and malnourished. Obviously dumped in order to be rescued. After being in a foster, they are now with us waiting for their loving 5 star homes. Relaxed and playful pups. Very social.
Max has quite large paws so we expect him to be a large, medium sized adult. Estimated date of birth, 1st April, 2020

14-08-2020 ADOPTED 27-09-2020

MELLOW

MIXED BREED MALE

MELLOW was found on the road to Alportel, middle of the main road with traffic just missing him and his 2 siblings. No collars or identification and all undernourished as usual. Our kind car mechanic who has his garage right there tried to catch all of them but only little Mellow came into his workplace. Mellow was covered in ticks and fleas and has some skin problems but we have already started treating all these. After a few shy days cuddling a soft toy half his size, he started to come out of his shell and is now a little doggy full of life and energy. Loves people and cuddles. Fascinated by cats. Mellow needs a 5++** home where he can run and play and be cuddled. Estimated date of birth 13/05/2020. He weighs 2 kg at this moment. Will be a rather small adult but with long legs.

14-09-2020 ADOPTED 29-10-2020

MISTY

MIXED BREED FEMALE

Misty was born around April 13, 2020 and was seen walking along the railway tracks. Perhaps she wanted to catch a train far away from the humans who dumped her there? However, before worse things could happen, she was spotted, picked up and brought here to be with us and safe.

Misty is quite social, feels at home with us and the other dogs and adapts easily to any new situation. A great addition to a young family. Misty now weighs about 6 kg at 5 months of age and will not be a large dog. But of course she would love to have her own forever-more home to play, run around and be happy. Who can make her wish come true?

NELLY

MIXED BREED FEMALE

Last December we were asked to help two black puppies on some derelict ground in the middle of town. We called those Karma and Kristel and both were adopted. Three days ago we were there again! The same friend informed us another litter had been born in the same place. What? Another litter, same mum? And it’s only 6 months ago. So this female has a litter every 6 months. Totally irresponsible behaviour by the municipality… Lovely pups, very social as we picked them up at about 6 weeks of age. Estimated date of birth April 5, 2020. So once again we are looking for 5 star homes. Will this ever end?

This is Nelly and we expect her to be a small medium dog when adult.

QUIANA

MIXED BREED, FEMALE

QUIN AND QUIANA were brought to us by our municipal vet on Xmas Eve. What a splendid opportunity to offer homeless pups  shelter for the festive days. We hear and see a lot about homelessness around this time and how we should all visit our neighbours to see if they are ok. But this also applies to our four legged friends, that’s for sure.

Full house, no room at the inn..? Well we had to make room not in a stable but something similar.

The pups are very social and cuddly and love to be around humans so must have been in a home before abandoned.

How can people do this you may ask? Yes, we ask that question all the time.

Estimated date of birth is 24/08/2019. Will be medium sized adults.

Healthy, vaccinated and ready for adoption to loving families that will keep them safe for many Christmases to come.

REMY (with some Serra da Estrela characteristics)

MIXED BREED MALE

REMY and his siblings were found wandering around wasteland with nowhere to go. No mother in sight. No collars, no identification, nothing. Hungry and thirsty. They were picked up and taken to a local shelter but the shelter had no room for them. This is the current situation in Portugal. We all know that! No room anywhere for all the abandoned dogs and cats. Fortunately, a foster family offered to take him in and that’s where he is living now until we find him his permanent, forever home.

Remy’s estimated date of birth is 23-02-2020. At this moment (at 5 months) he weighs 15.5 kg and is 48 cm tall.

He is a friendly pup learning how to live in a home environment. A bit shy with strangers at the first meeting. Used to cats in the house. Sleeps in a crate at night. Travels well in the car. Will be a medium-large size adult.

07-03-2020 ADOPTED 20-06-2020

ROCKY

MIXED BREED MALE

ROCKY was found with a broken left front leg by the local firemen. He had no chip or any identification so was taken to the municipal shelter but because of his injury they took him to our vet. They could also have euthanised him because municipalities have no funding to pay for complicated orthopaedic procedures on the stray dogs they find. But our vets didn’t hesitate to take him in and start the long treatment and recuperation. We promised to find him a home.

Rocky had extensive surgery and had an external fixator for quite a while. He was confined to a box in the clinic and short toilet walks but he never complained or showed any signs of aggression. He is friendly with all the other animals in the clinic, dogs, cats and a rabbit.

Now Rocky is ready for adoption so we are looking for his 10 star permanent home. A special family for a special dog. He is medium size, of slight build and currently weighs around 22 kg. His leg is fine and he can walk and run on it. Estimated date of birth is September 2018.

RUFUS

PORTUGUESE MOUNTAIN DOG, MALE

RUFUS was seen wandering the fields and streets with a chain around his neck. It took volunteers 10 days to catch him and take him to the shelter. He was a bit shy and scared at first but soon got over his initial fears. So many dogs there barking and running around!

He is a very gentle Estrela, good with other dogs, male and female as well as cats and people including children. His estimated date of birth is January 2019. That makes him about 16 months old now (May 2020). He is 27 kg at the moment but will be around 45 at adulthood. We are looking for a 10 * home for this beautiful Serra with people who know and love the breed.

On a chain the poor mother dog cannot run away so she gets pregnant and has her pups.
Sandy is one of these and Sanne is the other. The pups are very friendly, social with everyone and other dogs, playful and content. Estimated date of birth July 1, 2020. Will be medium adults. The poor mother is now in the shelter and will be sterilised soon. No more pups and no more chains.

In spite of her traumatic experience, she is very friendly and loves people and other dogs. With special food and lots of care she should gain weight slowly.

Her estimated date of birth is around 05 December 2019 and she weighs 7.7 kg now at 3 months old.

Sol will be a medium/large dog when adult with long legs.

TAKSI

PORTUGUESE MOUNTAIN DOG, FEMALE

TAKSI, a short coat brindle Serra da Estrela, was first spotted as a “roaming” dog when she was a big pup. She lived among huge orange groves with lots of space to run around, hide and be unseen. People obviously fed her to keep her alive but no attempts were made to catch and identify her. Can you believe that she was born somewhere and had a mother and siblings? Who knows? Eventually she was caught and came to us to be looked after and homed.

She was rather shy at first but soon began to integrate with the other dogs and people. She loves to greet you in her own way which is very enthusiastic and boisterous. A dog with a typical Serra personality. Taksi needs a strong experienced adopter who knows and loves the breed and has time for walking and training.

Her estimated date of birth is 15 April 2019. She is of course spayed, vaccinated, chipped and tested.

24-04-2020 ADOPTED 19-05-2020

TANSY

PORTUGUESE MOUNTAIN DOG, FEMALE

TANSY was found by a kind person at the end of last year, 2019, limping around the countryside. Apparently, she had a broken or fractured leg possibly due to being hit by a vehicle but we will never know. She was taken to the local municipal dog shelter and from there to a special clinic for surgery on her leg. We are now 4 months further on and her leg is healing well and she can walk on it now. We still need to take care of course but she is a young dog and at this age bones heal well. She is now in the care of our friends at the shelter.

Tansy is a gentle Serra girl, social with people and other dogs. She looks sad on the photos but this is typical of the breed especially after such a traumatic experience.

She will blossom and smile when she gets her very special Estrela, 5 star home. Serras should not be in a shelter but have plenty of space to run around and guard their family and property. Tansy is spayed, chipped and vaccinated, weighs around 30 kg and is 60 cm. Estimated date of birth, August 2018.

We are looking for a family with experience and who love this breed as much as we do.

TESSA

MIXED BREED FEMALE

Tessa and her brothers Teun and Toby were born somewhere in a horrible place. They were three of several newly borns waiting to suckle their mother but sadly she died giving birth. Of the litter, only these 3 just about survived. A surrogate mother who had lost most of her own pups was found and she then fed her own survivors as well as these three.

These pups began life in very difficult circumstances and were undernourished and thus underweight. Now, after lots of TLC and excellent food, they have caught up and are more or less the size/weight we expect for their age at 9 weeks.

Tessa is a lovely, relaxed and friendly puppy. Estimated date of birth is July 21, 2020. We expect her to be medium/large when adult, perhaps around 30kg.

Who will give Tessa her forever-more loving home as a family pet?

TUSHA

MIXED BREED FEMALE

Tusha is a small female of 8 kg, 24 cm tall and about 7 years old (born February 2013). She has always lived in the house of a single Portuguese man and his demented father, who actually couldn't take good care of her and that's why they gave her away to us. Tusha is just a lovely dog, who felt at home after 1 day and wants nothing more than to be cuddled. Because Tusha showed signs of Leishmania, she was tested and those tests were positive. She has had a number of treatments for this disease and is in good health. But she will have to continue to use medication to control the Leishmania.
We are now looking for a loving family who has a very small place in their house and heart left for this little treasure, who will give her thanks and love a hundredfold from day one.

Sadly all animal lovers here have many dogs in their care so the next one and the next one have to go into shelters and wait for their forever home. Zara is a small breed, less than 10 kg. Estimated date of birth is April 1, 2019.
